BlinkyBulb is an exciting new initiative to help people recycle mercury containing fluorescent tubes and CFL globes.

The BlinkyBulb project has been developed by the Rotary International District 9780 Preserve Planet Earth (Water & Environment) Committee and Highlands Regional Waste Management Group.

There are now a number of participating regional waste management groups in Western Victoria including Desert Fringe, Central Murray and Barwon. The media partner is Win TV.

The aim of the program is to set up a process so as many people as possible will have access to convenient, safe and cost-free disposal of their used fluorescent tubes/globes.

Collection points have been established, at local businesses and council centres.

The blinkybulb program has been established for householders. Therefore, the blinkybulb program does not and cannot accept fluoro tubes from commercial sources.
